When considering a table saw as an investment for you workshop what is a Good Table Saw for Woodworking.

There are many things to consider what is the best table saw for my workshop.

What are the table saw safety features and is it a top rated table saw.

Space in the workshop is always at a premium for most woodworkers and with the table saw it is not only the size of the saw but clear room around it to manipulate the material being cut.

Jet JBTS-10MJS 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw

This machine in general has been well received by the various purchasers and most had it up and running within 30 minutes of unpacking it.

Changing blades was found quick and easy with the screw-less designed insert.

The quality of the saw was good though there was concern about the plastic base, would it stand up to demands on the top site.

Most seem to consider that it was a recommended table saw.

The features from the manufacturer:

Pros:

• A heavy-duty 15-amp motor with a pleasing soft-start.
• There is a riving knife, anti-kickback pawls which meet UL standards, for safety, they are of European-style.
• The wheel stand has an easy folding feature for potability and quick set-up.
• It weighs in at just under 100lbs.
• There is also a 3-year limited warranty.

Cons:

• Due to non standard miter slots the garbage miter was difficult so difficult to find a replacement.
• The saw doesn’t have the availability of many accessories.
• The anti kickback pawls and blade guard were found to be difficult to assemble.

But most were delighted with there purchase and considered it the best table saw for the price

Jet 708492K JPS-10TS, 10-inch Proshop Tablesaw with 30-inch Fence, Steel Wing and With Riving Knife

This model of Jet is not a portable one but a best rated table saw weighting in at 261.5lbs.

Does it fit into your workshop being 82 x 35 x 39 inches in dimensions.

So having established that the choice could be the best homeowner table saw then to look at the features the saw has:

A riving knife to reduce the possibility of a kickback by keeping a close blade proximity.

A T-style miter slot in a heavy duty cast iron table.

A leg stand design with an enclosed cabinet for easy assembly.

For rapid blade change an integrated arbor lock accessible from the table top.

For tool mounting and removal the riving knife and blade guard have a quick release system.
A 5 year warranty is provided.

With the above features purchasers agreed it had adequate power but do not recommend trying to rip through thick pieces of wood.
Others were impressed with the ease of assembly and only taking about 2-3 hours.

Most noteworthy on assembly, everything found square to within 1/2 degree.

Also found the set-up following dimensions: 60’’wide x 35” deep x 37.5” high.

Furthermore any complaints or faults discovered, a call to services,  readily replaced.

The Powermatic is another heavyweight machine so purchasing such a good table saw for woodworking the weight will have to be taken seriously for delivery.

Being possibly one of the best table saw to buy the problems of installation have been considered and overcome.

The machine lives up to its advertisement delivering all of its advertising claims.

Some of them are as follows:
Hands free power switch easily located.

Cut adjustment giving a full range with a miter gauge pivoting 60degrees either side.

Also 115V power source for the cabinet.

The dust collection is maximised with a blade surround and hose collector.

It has a 1.75 HP supply.

A 5 year warranty.

Dimensions 36” x 27.5” x 63.8”

The purchasers thought the best table saw to buy and the staff at Powermatic were ready to help with any issues in a friendly way.

All the purchasers gave the product 5 stars so this makes Powermatic a top rated table saw.

The customer reviews for this table saw make it a good table saw for woodworking. Has it all the benefits required by most woodworkers.

It is a heavy machine at 528lbs so it will require some lifting equipment available when taking delivery.

The features of this:

• Riving knife with quick release.
• Splitter assembly and blade guard.
• A polished cast iron table.
• Precision ground wings with large cast iron trunnions.

An anodised fence extension, adjustable T-slot miter gauge and flip stop.

The T-fence system is wide and glides easily, having also a positive cam lock.

The magnetic switch has a thermal overload protection.

The saw doesn’t vibrate even though it has plenty of power available.

The dust port is very efficient so keeping the surrounding are fairly clean.

The switch situ so it can  operate with a nudge. Also some criticism, could operated unintentionally in the middle of a cut. As a result this is also a safety feature.

If one requirement was it had to be portable then the Jet JBTS-10MJS 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw was the saw that fitted the requirement.

The table saw that stands out is the SawStop PCS175-TGP236 1.75-HP Professional Cabinet Saw with its superior build and excellent safety features.

It is an expensive piece of equipment but Amazon do offer interest free if paid in 12 months.
